11/11/09--17:53: Remis Takes First Place at the Dublin Tattoo Conve (chan 2065940)




Remis took home a First Place Award at the 7th Annual International Dublin Tattoo Convention 2009. The sought after trophies are colourful skateboards, beautifully customised by Ollie Sweetman of FTW.

Remis took First Place for Best Sleeve. A Vampire story, with a detailed castle, vampire, graveyard and a semi-clothed woman of course! We're very happy that months of planning this tattoo and obviously months of tattooing paid off! Thanks also to Silvana for coming to the convention and showing her amazing sleeve!

i will be tattooing at the first ever Tattoo Freeze Convention! Organised by Skin Deep, it's a brand spanking new one-day tattoo convention, with a simple philosophy... It's all about fantastic art!

Over the course of the day they will have some of the world's best Tattoo Artists and will be showcasing ArtFusion canvases, some that will be worked on by our artists, some by apprentices and some by the public itself.

This convention is for invited Artists only, guaranteeing a day full of very special work.

On the Tattoo Boat, which cruises between Stockholm and Turku (Finland), there is a 100% focus on the art, culture and lifestyle of tattooing.

In March 2007 the very first Tattoo Boat cruise set sail and was a huge success for all involved and it has been going strong ever since.

In the month of May Remis will be tattooing in the charming little town of Hollywood, California! For two weeks he has the honour of guest spotting at Kayden Creations a studio that has been established since 1996. Remis will be working alongside the talented artists Andy, Bok and Clifton. This year's Tattoo Jam is once again taking place at Doncaster Racecourse. Tattoo Jam is one of the biggest Tattoo Conventions of the year, run by the publishers of Skin Deep, Skin Shots International and Tattoo Master Magazines.

I had the honour of being nominated for Best International Artist this year at the Skin Deep Tattoo Master Industry Awards 2010. There were some amazing Artists in the category so he was genuinely shocked when my name was announced as the winner!

Also, Tattoo Jam and over 200 of the artists there managed to break the Guinness World Record for the most people being tattooed simultaneously! Fantastic weekend at a great convention – Thanks to Shelly, Dee, Wendy and all the Tattoo Jam staff for all your hard work!

Just a quick journal entry to let you guys know about the Tattoo Freeze convention in Shropshire this coming January. If you haven't already heard about it, check it out http://www.tattoofreeze.com/. I'll be going too and while I'm booked up for the two days of the convention I can tell you there's going to be alot of really great artists doing some fantastic work, so I hope those of you reading this swing by if you can!

I am selling my tattoo studio and supplies business of 2 ½ years, Tattoo Prime. I am looking for a buyer for 100% of the business as I want to spend more time over the next couple of years tattooing at conventions and doing guest spots.

Everyone, despite my plan to sell my shop, I plan to move to another studio here in the city centre, my existing bookings will be notified before their appointments about the change of studio and I am still taking bookings as per usual. Just because I hope to sell my shop does not mean I will stop tattooing, if anything I will have more time for it because I will not have to manage a shop on top of it! :)

So, I have finally made the move to Skin City, just down the street at 60 A South Williams Street in the Basement. I'm really looking forward to my new adventure here at the studio. Just wanted to say thank you for every one's patience while I made this decision.
